As many fans expected, the June 13 episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL has been preempted and will now air on Wednesday, June 14. “Due to ongoing breaking news coverage,” the soap tweeted, “today’s scheduled episode of GH will air tomorrow.”
This means that it is a national preemption and not localized, so everyone in every time zone will not be getting a new episode of GH today. You’ll just have to wait until Wednesday to see what happens next. So don’t go looking for it on Hulu or ABC.com on Tuesday evening, either —if it doesn’t air during the day, it doesn’t appear online at night. And if you do happen to see some of the show in your particular time zone, you’ll naturally be seeing an encore episode.
Fans will also want to double-check their DVR boxes for tomorrow because these kinds of interruptions play havoc with DVR scheduling. Many viewers find that following a preemption, their DVR won’t record the next episode. Better safe than sorry!
So while the real-life drama of the world takes over the television, just take comfort in knowing that you’re not going to miss any of the fictional drama of Port Charles. Simply tune in on Wednesday for an all-new episode that will pick up right where things left off on Monday!
