75 hard challenge.. (with a Christian spin) (2024)

What is the 75 hard challenge? Well in short, it’s a mental fitness challenge. This is in no way a weight loss program. Which is 100% the reason why I kept interest in it. If the goal was to loose weight, that challenge would definitely be barking up the wrong tree. I’m not going to sit here and act like I know everything there is to know about this challenge. What I do know is why I chose to do this, and how I plan to honor God through it.

So, back to the challenge. One day while I was creeping through my Instagram, I saw this ladies insta story. It was a short video of her working out in the freezing cold (snow and all). 1st thought that came to mind was that she was COMPLETELY insane. 2nd thought was that she was really dedicated and disciplined. Both in which I feel like I have been lacking in. Day after day she would post workouts in all types of weather (this is Texas) and day after day she showed up and showed out. Never ceasing to miss. I’ve been insta stalking her for a few weeks now, waiting for her to stop and give up. But she hasn’t. Being the weirdo that I am, I googled 75 hard challenge and researched all that there was to read about this. The more I read, the more I liked.

This guy named Andy F. created this challenge. I don’t want to take his reason out of context but what I got from it was that he felt like the battle was always in his head. He (like me) struggled with moving forward in life with no progress. He said that he spent years of his life feeling like he was nothing. Not only had he let himself go physically, but mentally as well. 20 years it took him to realize that the real problem was a lack of mental toughness and discipline. So where do I fit into all of this? Well, I can relate 100% to all of theses reasons and then some.

I don’t know if he is a believer. I don’t know his back ground or even him for that matter, but I can relate to him. The only difference between me and him is the only one that matters…GOD. So, if you read the title, this is the 75 hard challenge. Only difference is, I will be putting Christ in the center of this. And I will tell you 5 reasons why.

  • 1.) One of the biggest battles we face as a believer is overcoming the mind (Proverbs 23:7).
  • 2). We are NOT capable of accomplishing anything WITHOUT Christ. (John 15:5)
  • 3). Taking care of your body is an act of worship. (1 Cor 3:16-17)
  • 4). It takes discipline to follow Christ. (1 Peter 1:14-16)
  • 5). Knowing who we are in Christ is more than half the battle. (2 Cor 5:17)

He only has 5 rules for this challenge. Must be on a diet of some kind (NO CHEAT MEALS OR ALCOHOL). Must do two 45 minute workouts (ONE HAS TO BE OUTSIDE). Must drink one gallon of water a day. Must read 10 pages of a personal developmental book. And lastly, take one progress pic a day. AND YOU MUST DO THIS FOR 75 DAYS STRAIGHT. If you miss any of the following rules you have to start back on day one. Yeah, you read that right. ALL THE WAY BACK TO DAY ONE. The whole point is start and finish. No matter how many times you mess up, you can always start over. Now if that don’t sound like our Lord and savior, I don’t know what does.

I have a group of women who have agreed to complete this challenge with me. My goals for these women, is strength and growth, as well as conquering the battle within us. I know this challenge is going to test every single emotion I have. But I am convinced that if I keep God 1st in this, He will honor our hard work. That this challenge will help us grow spiritually. And since I take pride in being 100% transparent in ALL that I do, I plan on bringing you along for this journey. I will record all my highs and lows and what God is teaching me along the way. All I ask is that you keep your girl in prayer. 75 days is feeling like a long time right about now!
